A new year at Tregovenek
And what an exciting year it will be for Tregovenek!

In January in this hemisphere of our beautiful planet, we are still in the depths of Winter. Still in the time of inward reflection and dreaming. Having said that, there are stirrings under the soil and a few signs above ground too to indicate that Spring is on its way. At Tregovenek, there has been plenty of dreaming into ideas and some gentle reaching out in readiness for emerging from our pause time.
There are people working on behalf of Tregovenek in so many different ways and in so many different places. Despite being over the other side of the world for a few months, Jemma is continuing to work remotely (maybe because she’s in the height of Summer over there, not the depths of a soggy winter!). Links continue to strengthen with Plymouth university and with potential funding bodies whilst word continues to spread locally.
Working Circles and Sociocracy training
Focus this month will be on ensuring that those in working circles are happy and comfortable in their roles. The Heartholders and Ways of Working circles are currently working on how best to offer support to new people joining in and are looking at offering training courses in sociocracy.
To find out more about sociocracy have a good look at this introductory video (click here) and browse the rest of the website. This is new for everybody! It’s a learning process and gets clearer and better with practice, therefore it would be wonderful if as many people as possible could give it a try. We are looking at getting small groups together to do the online training that the Heartholder’s circle has done previously (find out more here) – it involves 4 x 2 hour online sessions, done as a group (4-8 people). If you would like to do this, please email jemma@tregovenek-org-uk.stackstaging.com to confirm and it will be organised! It’s a wonderful way to learn together and get to know each other better. The training will be open to anyone who wants to find out more. The cost is £100 per group, donations would be most welcome however not necessary if this would prevent you from participating.
Progress is being made

On the land itself there has been great progress in the garden though still a long way to go! The work party on December the 30th was really productive and very enjoyable. One of the polytunnels is now clear ready for some Spring planting. Much more of the undergrowth has been cut back and more rubbish has been cleared. The small shed has been completely emptied ready to look at the possibility of turning it into an office space. And most excitingly, one of the bedrooms in the bungalow has been cleared ready for a treatment couch! A range of treatments have been offered by Cheryl and Helen during work parties. If that’s not good regenerative practice then I don’t know what is!
Next work party

The next work party is booked for Friday the 27th of January, 9:45am for a 10am start with feedback and a communal lunch in the barn at 12:30pm (please bring food to share and your own crockery – we now have cutlery!).
As with last month, we will allow half an hour for check-ins and refreshing Tregovenek’s values before we begin work together. We will be continuing with garden and rubbish clearing, starting work to dismantle the second polytunnel and looking at fixing guttering on the barns ready for water catchment. A couple of people to help with refreshments worked really well last month so it would be great to have some help with that again. Please let me know if you’re hoping to come along. Also, if anyone has access to bits of guttering or large water tanks please shout.

Some enthusiastic folk have asked if they can just call by and work in the garden in their own time – fantastic! Again, please just let me know when you’re planning to do this and enter your name and date in the new book by the 1st aid kit in the main barn.
I think that’s plenty to digest for now!
Thank you for all your support.
