Legal status of Tregovenek
Tregovenek is a Community Benefit Society (CBS), registered in December 2021, under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).
As a CBS, Tregovenek is:
- Set up with social objectives to conduct a business or trade, serving the broader interests of the community.
- Run and managed by its members, on a one-member, one-vote basis. Membership is open to any person who supports the purpose of the society.
- Obligated to submit annual accounts.
- Able to raise funds by issuing withdrawable community shares to the public.
