We launched a Crowdfunder in 2024 and thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, plus funding from Cornwall Council, and a huge number of volunteer hours, we proudly opened the hand-crafted wooden gates in April 2025.
The garden is continuously evolving and includes a central gathering circle, with radial beds containing a mixture of herbs, flowers and vegetables.
The up-cycled and reclaimed features, such as the old shed, greenhouse, children’s play area, pallet furniture, and vibrant hand-painted signage add to the welcoming atmosphere. We think we have the most beautiful accessible compost toilet in Cornwall!
We gather around the fire pit every Friday for our volunteer work parties, if you would like to join in, please email outreach@tregovenek.org.uk.
The garden is now open, from dawn until dusk daily, please visit! It will be maintained through weekly volunteer sessions. Under 18s must bring an adult. To keep food safe and children carefree, we request that dogs be tied in the designated area behind the compost loo. The community garden is smoke-free and the fire pit can only be used during organised events.
As well as growing food, the aims are for the garden to be a space for various gatherings, ranging from celebrations and meetings, to workshops focused on skills for sustainable living.
