Welcome to the first Tregovenek Newsletter of 2025!

You’re Invited!

Community Garden Grand Opening

Sunday 6th April

1-4pm.

In Summer 2024, with amazing support from you all to our Crowdfunder, just over £18,000 was raised.

Our growing volunteer crew set to work to start building a community garden for all to enjoy. A space to showcase market gardening, medicinal herbs, permaculture and regenerative principles for protecting the land and all life at Tregovenek. A place to relax and play, a place to support local enterprise to include nature connection in their activities, and a space for education and wellbeing.

We are so pleased that from 6 April the garden will be open for everyone to enjoy!

This garden would not have been possible without all of your support!

As always, thank you to you all for your ongoing support in making Tregovenek into the beautiful community space we know is possible.

We are so looking forward to celebrating the grand unveiling of the garden with you all!

The Tregovenek Team xx

We would love your help!

As part of the garden opening day there will be a plant stall, a raffle and a jumble/garage sale and refreshments. Donations for these will be gratefully received!

Items can be received on these dates by prior arrangement

(email ele@tregovenek.org.uk or message 07421813976)

Plants for sale: 31st March – 5th April (Please label)

Quality Raffle Prizes- as above (If you have an idea of a business to approach for a raffle prize, please let us know).

Jumble/Garage sale items – as above. (Please consider your donations carefully and be prepared to take back home items that don’t sell.)

Cakes for refreshments – Saturday the 5th and the morning of Sunday 6th April. (we can cover costs for ingredients. Please label clearly regarding ingredients.)

Tregovenek’s 2025 Pumpkin Challenge!

At our opening event we will be giving away free pumpkin seeds with pots and compost and lots of growing tips!

We welcome you to join us in our summer community growing effort to create the weirdest and wackiest pumpkins, and showcase them at our family festival event in October.

Grab your seeds and see what you can grow!

What we’ve been up to…

Bent Hazel Chair Making Course at Pentiddy

One of our winter workshops from the garden Crowdfunder saw six participants expertly guided through the process of making a hazel chair over 2 days in February at Pentiddy Woods.

Participants chose their own hazel poles from the coppice at Pentiddy, and the sizing and style of their chairs to suit their needs and styles. A wonderfully satisfying weekend!

If you are interesting in booking into a course next year, please email outreach@tregovenek.org.uk for more details.

The finished frame after day 1..

Happy workers!

Behind the scenes…

Some of our volunteers from various working circles are using the knowledge gained from our recent Conflict Resolution Training to put together a Conflict Resolution Pathway for Tregovenek.

This is part of our dedication to continuous improvement to make our culture as regenerative and supportive as possible. By setting out agreed pathways to meet conflict proactively where it arises with compassion, we can choose to see it as an opportunity to understand each other better, deepen our relationships with each other and learn about ourselves.

Climate Cafes starting in Liskeard!

Following the training at Tregovenek last year, some of the Tregovenek members are helping to host a Climate Cafe Listening Circle in Liskeard Library at four different dates this year.

These spaces are a chance to come together and speak in a supportive atmosphere about your feelings and responses to the climate and ecological crisis.

Please speak to Ele (ele@tregovenek.org.uk) if you would like to know more and you can book your space here by clicking on the poster below.
