Tregovenek Community Farm is really happening!
The purchase of the site is complete! The seeds of intention that we’ve been holding in our hearts for 2 years are now in the soil on the land.
Not without many-a-complication and delay, from Tuesday the 25th of October, Tregovenek Limited (a Community Benefit Society) finally has the responsibility for the property and stewardship of the land. It feels huge and more importantly, it feels bold and beautiful!
The main barn was the venue for an event last weekend, the invitation for which went out to all subscribers to this newsletter. 50 people came to share their intentions for the land, to learn more about Tregovenek’s ways of working, to see the presentation of the permaculture design, to dance, feast and celebrate! It was a wonderfully positive and reassuring start.
Work party Friday 11th November, 10am.
We will be starting work to clear the garden, bash back some brambles and start on the very long list of jobs to get the bungalow ready for renting. If you would like to come along you would be VERY welcome! It would be handy to know numbers so please let me know if you’d like to join in by e-mailing Ele.
We will meet at the barn at 10am for a check-in round and to formulate our plans for the day and finish work at 12:30 in time for a shared lunch in the barn for those who would like to eat together. Please bring work clothes, gloves, tools for garden clearing, food to share and a plate and mug. We will provide hot drinks and plenty of lovely work!
Other events for your diary
There are a couple more brilliant events coming up on the first weekend in December. Please share with everyone you know (and those you don’t!). The more of us who can come along and show our support for these events, the better!
Looking at the bigger picture, the parish is in the process of creating a community resilience plan…..
There are so many ways to get involved and we need as many hands and hearts as possible! All input is always VERY welcome.
